Nancy Light (Saltz)

Nancy Light (Saltz)

Nancy Light Saltz died Feb. 11, 2011.  Nancy was born Nov. 26, 1949, in Melrose, Mass., and grew up in Lynchburg, Va.  She is survived by her father, Warren Light, his wife, Norma Light, her sisters, Donna Light, Barbara Hensley, Greta Hassel and Lynne Wilson, and her daughter, Anne Jordan Saltz.  She graduated from E.C. Glass High School in 1967, from Randolph-Macon Women's College in 1971, and received her Master's in Accounting.  She went on to pursue graduate work in economics and computer science.  She worked in several fields, including internal auditing, teaching at Lynchburg College, and internet marketing.  Most recently, she founded Garden-Flags.com, located in Williamsburg, Va., where she moved four years ago to be closer to her daughter.  Nancy was a proponent of the arts and an advocate for the environment. She was always involved with her community, but above all, she consistently put the needs of those she loved above her own.  She was extremely caring and giving of herself and her many talents.  She will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in those who love her.  A memorial service will be held on March 21, 2011, in Williamsburg, Va.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her honor to The College of William and Mary, Department of Geology (http://www.wm.edu/as/geology/support/index.php).
