Dear Class of 1967!

It’s been a quick five years since our 50^th class reunion in 2017.  On behalf of the Reunion Committee, we are pleased to announce the 55^th reunion of the class of 1967 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 - 2, 2022.  For the first time, our main celebration will occur on a Sunday afternoon to allow everyone to drive home safely during daylight hours.

The past years have been tumultuous for many of us due to Covid-19 and other illnesses.  We hope you, your family, and your friends are well.  The pandemic has slowed down (and hopefully soon to be eliminated), and we are adjusting our lives to “a new normal.”  Now it’s time to celebrate the 55^th reunion of our class. 

Here are the reunion weekend details:

• Saturday, October 1 – There are many activities in and around Lynchburg to enjoy.  Such activities include museums, Old City Cemetery, wineries, breweries, orchards, and D-Day Memorial in Bedford.  A list of suggested activities is available on the website.  None of these activities is linked to our reunion.
• Saturday, October 1 – Meet and Greet, Hilton Garden Inn, 4025 Wards Road, 7 - 9 p.m.
• Sunday, October 2 – Reunion lunch, Brookville Ruritan Club, 311 Beverly Hills Circle, 1 -  5 p.m.  The lunch is being catered by County Smoak.  This is a casual event, and we plan to eat outside, weather permitting.  Otherwise, the lunch will be inside.  No alcoholic beverages will be sold, but you may bring your own.
• The cost will be $40 per person.

Thanks to Wendy Currier who secured a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn, 4025 Wards Road, for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.  The cost is $139 per night plus tax for either a room with a king bed or two queen beds. A complimentary breakfast is included. The rooms are reserved as E. C. Glass Reunion, and the Code is ECG.  Reservations should be made by August 31, 2022 using Code ECG identifying you as a participant of the reunion.  You are encouraged to make your reservation early.  Cancellations may be made 24 hours in advance.  If all the rooms are reserved, the nightly rate may be the market rate.  To make your reservation, call 434-239-3006 or go online to https://group.hiltongardeninn.com/wss6de.

• Complete the registration form.  Boxes with * require a response.  Once completed, click on SUBMIT.  You will receive a response indicating your form has been received.  On the website, update your profile indicating whether or not you are planning to attend the reunion.  Also make changes to your information, if needed, and save your changes before exiting.  This is a good time to review your contact info, too.
• Print the payment form.  Complete the form, attach your check payable to E. C. Glass HS Reunion of 67, and mail your check to Mariea Reynolds, 1155 Abbey Place, Forest, VA 24551. The deadline for submitting your payment is August 15, 2022, but you are encouraged to send your check early.
• Saturday 10/1/22 activities listing shows many of the available activities in the Lynchburg area.

Finally, I would like to urge all of you who have not joined our website (www.ecglass67.com) to join now.  To join, go to our website and click on “Join Here.”  Step-by-step instructions are given.  Step three is the Profile Page.  You must select whether or not you plan to attend the reunion.  Even if you are not planning to attend the reunion, please join the website so that we have all your current information.  You can change your responses on the Contact Info and Profile pages anytime.
