Sandra Horsley (Almond)

Sandra Horsley Almond, 60, of Evington, died Sunday, November 8, 2009.  She was the wife of Clarence S. Almond, Jr.  Mrs. Almond was born Friday, August 12, 1949, in Lynchburg, a daughter of Lucille Stern Horsley of Lynchburg and the late Bertrand “Buck” Horsley.  She was retired from Nationwide Insurance, where she was a claims agent and was a member of Living Word Baptist Church.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Deana Harvey, and husband Brian, of Lynchburg; her stepsons, Kenneth Almond and wife Karen, of Richmond and Matthew Almond of Lynchburg; her brothers, Fred Horsley and wife, Sue, of Rustburg, and Benjamin “Butch” Horsley and wife, Cheryl, of Forest; her grandchildren, Hunter Harvey and Hailey Harvey; her step-granddaughter, Lauren Baker; six loving nieces and nephews; and her loving cat, Troubles.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, November 10, 2009, at Living Word Baptist Church.  A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Living Word Baptist Church with Pastor Marvin Suitt officiating.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Living Word Baptist Church, 4130 Waterlick Road, Forest, VA 24551, or Susan G.
