Brenda Garrett Brooks, 53, of 2624 Mayflower Drive, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Lynchburg General Hospital.  She was the wife of Danny Preston Brooks for 34 years.  Born March 28, 1948 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel W. and Dollie Garrett.  Brenda was an employee of Mail America, Forest.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and homemaker.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Danny Ray Brooks and his fiance, Kelly Walker of Bedford County; one daughter, Wendy L. Brooks of Lynchburg; one brother, Stuart Garrett of Rustburg and his children, Wayne and Dawn; a very special aunt, Ethel M. Garrett of Amherst, who raised Brenda from the age of three and her sons, William, Owen, and Albert Garrett, Jr.; her aunt, Dot Riddle of Texas and her daughter, Pat, and Brenda’s special friends, Carol Ann McCauley, Sandra Stanley, Margie Wooldridge, and Libby Hamlett.  A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday at Fort Hill Memorial Part by Dr. Jim Moon.  The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel and other times at the residence.
