Shelby Kessler (Hall)

Shelby Kessler Hall was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on February 1, 1949 and died in Midlothian, Virginia on November 13, 2008.  She was the widow of Robert Bryant Hall.  Shelby attended Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia.  Shelby is survived by Jennifer Ruth Hall, step-daughter, of Altavista, Virginia; Talmage Durham, mother-in-law, of Greensboro, North Carolina; Elaine and Leonard Shelton, sister-in-law and husband, of Hurt, Virginia; Alice and Kenneth Johnson, step-sister and husband of Madison Heights, Virginia; Charles Kessler, step-brother, of Madison Heights, Virginia; Thomas Johnson, nephew, of Madison Heights, Virginia; Drew Kessler, nephew, of Madison Heights, Virginia; Kristi Burton, dear friend, of Colonial Heights, Virginia; and Randle Baize, fiancé, of Richmond, Virginia. Shelby, a lifelong animal enthusiast, is also survived by her pets, whom she called her “babies,” Hannah, Sasha, Gizmo, and John-John.  Shelby graduated from E.C. Glass, Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg, Virginia and Radford College in Radford, Virginia.  She was a former teacher for Prince George Public Schools and retired in 2003 from Patient First in Chester, Virginia, where she was employed as an X-Ray technician.  A memorial service will take place at Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.  Shelby will be buried in Hurt, Virginia.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Richmond Chapter of the Humane Society in Shelby’s name.
