Cynthia Faye Hargis, 55, died in Abilene, Texas, on Thursday, March 4, 2004.  She was born in Lynchburg on February 7, 1949, a daughter of the late Guy Whitfield Hargis and the late Eunice Brizendine Hargis.  She was a member and faithful worker in the First Christian Church of Abilene.  She was formerly employed as a Trust Officer of the First National Bank of Abilene.  Cindy loved good books and enjoyed reading.  She was gifted in writing beautiful notes to her church family, her family, and friends.  She is survived by her brother, Guy Leonard (Len) and his wife, Sally; her sister, Dr. Candice Blake; her nephew, Neal Hargis and his wife, Cindy; her niece Shelley Woodruff and her husband, Mike; a very special aunt, Dolly B. Dowdy; and her cousins, Brenda Nuckles, Elsie Mae Dowdy, Donna Dye, Larry and Gary Brizendine, Steve Morris, C. B. Melton, and Judie Davis.  A memorial service will be held at Fairview Christian Church on Saturday, March 13, 2004, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Hamilton and Parrish Minister, Jean Reynolds.
