Ricky Lee “Rick” Wood, 55, a 30-year resident of Edgewater, MD, died of cancer January 27, 2004, at home after a four-month illness.  The son of Robert and Joselle Wood of Lynchburg.  Mr. Wood was born April 16, 1948, in Nelson County and graduated from E. C. Glass High School in Lynchburg.  He served in the Marine Corps for 18 months, saw combat during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged as a corporal.  He earned the Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, the Vietnam Cross for Gallantry with palm, and the Good Conduct Medal.  He worked for the Computer Science Corp. in Greenbelt as a computer technician for 35 years before retiring in 1999.  An avid football fan, he was a former member of Colts Corral, No. 23.  Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Lynn D. Wood, whom he married June 24, 1972; one son, Kevin L. Wood of Edgewater, MD; and one granddaughter.  He was the brother of the late Larry W.
