Alice Fay Parker Sowers of 302 Greystone Drive, Lynchburg, VA went to be with the Lord after a long-time battle with Alzheimer’s disease, October 1, 2011.  She was born June 21, 1948.  She is survived by the husband, Rev. Charles A. Sowers, also of Lynchburg; sisters, Donna Marshall and husband of Spout Springs, Shirley Harris of Maryland, Joyce Williamson of Fredericksburg, Patricia Lott and daughter from Williamsburg; one brother, William H. Fitzgerald of Lynchburg.  She is preceded in death by her mother. Estelle Parker of Lynchburg and father, William (Pete) Parker of Lynchburg; a sister Brenda Tyree of Madison Heights; two brothers Ronnie Parker of Roanoke, Teddy Ray Fitzgerald of Big Island, and Bob Fitzgerald of Madison Heights.  Family night will be at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Tuesday evening from 7-8:30 p.m., October 4, 2011.  Graveside service will be at Fort Hill Memorial Park, in the Gardens of Apostle, Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 2 p.m.  Service will be conducted by Rev.
